On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, our final-year student Noa Mol organized a successful side event during the Urban Future conference. The event, called Paint Your City, took place at Gooilandssingel near Zuidplein and attracted over 70 enthusiastic participants who painted their vision of the city and neighborhood of the future.
This creative event, part of Noa’s graduation project in the Urban Tourism & Leisure Lab Rotterdam, was very well received by both the residents of Rotterdam Zuid and the visitors of the Urban Future conference at Rotterdam Ahoy.
Seated at picnic tables, participants shared their vision of the city’s future through art. Guided by an artist, they answered the question, “What does your city of the future look like?” on canvases.
Noa Mol, a Tourism Management student, looks back on the event with satisfaction: “It was really amazing! So many positive reactions too.” Given the success of this afternoon, plans are being made for a sequel in collaboration with parties in Hart van Zuid Rotterdam.
